Application call for the 14th ASEF Journalist Seminar for the session 2024. The Asian and Europe Foundation has recently announced the Journalist seminar through its official portal and social media platforms. The program is designed for journalists belonging to ASEM partner countries to promote media networks & understanding between the two regions (Asia & Europe).
The foundation is offering a fully funded conference in Hungary that will be held from 9th September to 12 September 2024. All the applicants related to the media fields who want to participate in the fully funded 3 days conference in Budapest, Hungary are encouraged to apply.
The aim of the program is to bring journalists from Europe and Asia under one platform where they can share their experiences and have discussions on important issues of common concern. The theme of the ASEFJS14 is the “Challenge of the advent of AI in Journalism”. For more details regarding the program check the given information below.

Conference Duration
The duration of the program is 3 days and will be conducted from 9-12 September 2024 in Budapest, Hungary.
Coverage
- ASEF with the collaboration of Danube Institute will bear the following costs of the selected participants
- Seminar fees, lecture fees, administrative fees, and course materials costs
- Accommodation in Budapest for the duration of the program
- Return Air Travel ticket to participate in the program
Note: Applicants need to purchase their own travel insurance that is not covered by the foundation.
Eligiblity Criteria:
- Applicant must be in Good Health
- Applicants must belong to 51 ASEM partner countries
- Have Good English Communication Skills
- Applicant must not exceed 35 years of age
- Applicant must possess at least 2 years experience in Journalism
- Must show the availability during the program dates

The Theme of the program is “ASEFJS14 will tackle the Challenge of the advent of AI in Journalism”
The workshop topics are the following:
- Creating guidelines and practices for the use of AI in Journalism
- Detection of misleading and disinformation with AI
- Use of AI for audience analytics & content personalization
- Artificial Intelligence’s Affect on Journalism

The application process is online, the selection is totally based on merit, applicants who are not selected for the program are encouraged to apply for the other thematic programs that are offered in the future.
