Ready to attend an international youth forum and connect with global change-makers in Abu Dhabi, UAE? The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is empowering a new generation of decision-makers and leaders by inviting talented young minds to join the 6th IRENA youth forum, commencing from 9-13 January 2025 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The event offers global participation, providing a platform for a balanced geographical representation of youth. It strongly encourages youth applications from developing countries, least developed countries (LDCs), and small island developing states (SIDs) to apply. The selection shall result in full sponsorship, including travel and accommodations, meals, workshops, seminars, and other interactive activities.
The IRENA Youth Forum has a history dating back to 2019. Since then, the forum has been successful in bringing together the most refined young leaders from around the world, providing them with learning, working, interacting, and collaboration opportunities on topics like energy transition, climate change, sustainable development, and youth empowerment, proposing to be a gateway for them to be the changemakers for tomorrow.
IRENA is a multilateral partnership initiative platform that includes the SIDS Lighthouse Initiative, the Global Geothermal Alliance (GGA), the Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA), the Beyond Food Clean Cooking Platform, the Alliance for Industry Decarbonization, the Utilities for Net Zero Alliance (UNEZA), and the ACCELERATED PARTNERSHIP for Renewables in Africa.
In the upcoming 6th forum for 2025, the selection committee will pick up 35 young leaders globally, ages 16 to 35, and provide them with full sponsorship for the 5-day event in Abu Dhabi. The young leaders will participate in the 15th IRENA assembly, a gathering where heads of state and government, ministers, and global stakeholders meet to discuss and advance the mission of accelerating renewable energy deployment to achieve climate objectives while also fostering connections with young global leaders.
The IRENA youth forum delegates will attend and participate in speeches and discussions with prominent leaders and experts, roundtables, workshops, seminars, youth circles, and high-level bilateral meetings. They will also engage in other interactive activities such as hackathons and game innovation challenges to foster participation and creativity.

Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility criteria for the IRENA Youth Forum include:
- Age: 16-35 years old
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities
- Education: Students, recent graduates, or young professionals with a background in renewable energy, sustainability, or related fields
- Language: Proficiency in English (the working language of the forum)
- Commitment: Demonstrated interest and commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development
- 6. Availability: Able to attend the entire forum (January 9-13, 2025)

- Answer all the questions and fill in the details as required.
- Please upload all the relevant documents, review them, and then submit them.
- The selection committee will review applications based on their commitment to accelerating the deployment of renewable energy. The committee will notify the selected candidates by October 2024.
