This is a fully funded leadership program to the USA sponsored by the Fred J. Hansen Foundation that includes programmatic costs, Airfare to and from the USA, and accommodation.

For the session 2025, the leadership institute has introduced a new and improved application website making it easier for the students to apply. Program Dates

  • The program will commence on July 1 and till July 22, 2025, Selected applicants will travel to the United States a few days earlier than the start date.

Eligibility Criteria for Hansen Leadership Institute 2025:

Non-US-Nationals

To participate in the program you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • The program is open to both Foreign and US nationals
  • Students enrolled in the upper division of undergraduate with two years of University
  • Graduate students who have an interest in the fields of IR, Diplomacy, International economic development, or other related fields.
  • Applicants age must be between 20-25 years at time of application
  • Must have demonstrated leadership quality in community, nation, or region
  • Have a valid passport

*Applicants who have never visited the United States will be given a preference

For US Nationals

  • Students in the upper division of Undergraduate degree or graduate students with an interest in International relations or related fields
  • Age requirement 20-25 years
  • Have demonstrated leadership qualities in the community.

Do you need a US Visa to Submit an Application?

No! applicants don’t need a US visa at the time of applying, if you are selected the host organization will provide you the necessary documents to assist in your US visa application.
