Maastricht University NL-High Potential Scholarship 2025

Maastricht University NL-High Potential Scholarship 2025 is an incredible opportunity for international students to study master’s in the Netherlands! Maastricht University under the prestigious NL-High Potential scholarship program offers 21 full scholarships to highly talented international students enrolled in the master’s program at Maastricht University.

The scholarship offers a stipend of € 34,000 (Including Tuition Fee waiver and monthly stipend) for each academic year making it an attractive option for aspiring students to study in one of the leading institutes of Europe without worrying about financial constraints.

The institute offers 2 types of scholarships (1) High Potential scholarship which is funded by the Maastricht University scholarship fund and (2) NL scholarship which is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Eligiblity Criteria:

You must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship:

  • International students holding a nationality out of the EU/EEA
  • Meet the requirements for entry and resident permit for the Netherlands
  • Do not possess dual nationality from an EU/EEA country
  • Applied for admission to a full-time master’s degree program (participating programs)
  • Meet the admission requirements for the program
  • Have not secured any previous degree from the Netherlands
  • Students who have previously participated in the exchange program to the Netherlands can apply
  • Applicants must not be older than 35 years of age as of September 1st, 2025.
  • Possess an excellent academic record
  • Once the application is submitted make sure you provide the complete documents and information you cannot edit it.

Note* The Maastricht University NL-High Potential scholarship is highly competitive only 2% of the applicants are awarded.

Follow the following steps to apply for the NL scholarship:

Step 1: Register in one of the participating programs

Once you submit your application via Studielink you will get a student id number that will be used to complete and submit the scholarship application.

Step 2: Log in to the UM account and start with the application

Upload the following documents in doc, .docx, or PDF format:

  • CV
  • Letter of Motivation template
  • Proof of academic excellence
  • Reference Letter
  • Personal Statement of Financial Needs
  • Contact Details on one Referee
