Application call for the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2025, an 8-week research program offered to undergraduate students in Biomedical sciences or related fields. Students who are currently attending bachelor’s degree programs in Asia regions are invited to submit the applications. During the program the scholars will be working full-time in a laboratory, attending special seminars, sessions, visits to the Utokyo campus, and Japanese cultural events. The program will take place at the University of Tokyo from June 5, 2025 – August 1, 2025. A fully funded program by the University of Tokyo that covers Accommodation, Stipend, and Travel costs. Students who are planning their careers in Biology or related sciences and want to pursue their graduate studies in the same fields should not miss out on this amazing opportunity.

Eligiblity Criteria
To participate in the Utokyo Amgen Summer Program you need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- The program is open to Undergraduate students
- Students currently attending degree programs in Asia region can apply
- Have completed 1st year of the degree program
- 1 semester or 1 Quarter of the degree program must be remaining after completing the summer program.
- Have an interest in pursuing PhD program
- Have an excellent academic record
- English proficiency test requirement:
- TOEFL: Minimum 72 score
- IELTS: Minumum 5.5 Banks
- Cambridge English FCE and TOEIC scores are also accepted

Amgen Scholars Program Support
- Accommodation: scholars will be accommodated near the Hango Campus
- Stipend: A stipend of 270,000 JPY to cover food and stay expenses in Japan

How to Apply?
The application process for the Amgen Scholars Program at the University of Tokyo is through 3 simple steps:
Step 1: Create an Account
Students need to create an account on the official portal, to start with the application. Note once your application is submitted you can’t make any changes afterwards.
Once you have created an account now search for the application page for the UTokyo Amgen scholars program and click on “Start my Application”.
The following documents are required to complete your application:
- Scanned ID/Passport for personal identification
- Passport size photo
- Academic Transcripts
- Proof of English Proficiency
- An updated cv
- Letters of Recommendation
Step 2: Request Recommendation Letters
Applicant’s applications would not be considered complete unless they submit the 2 recommendation letters.
Step 3: Complete Application
Once you are done with your all steps submit your application, once you do that your application status will be changed from “Application in Progress” to “Application Completed”
