Application call for the UTRIP Summer Internship 2025! A Fully Funded Summer research program in Japan is offered to international students currently admitted in the second and last year of the undergraduate degree program. UTRIP also known as the “University of Tokyo Research Program” was initially launched by the Graduate School of Science (University of Tokyo) in 2010 to attract international talent and promote the institute globally. The program is specifically designed for applicants who have keen interest in pursuing MS & PhD degree program after completing the Undergraduate program.
International students pursuing their degree in natural sciences or related fields are invited to submit the applications. The duration of the UTRIP Summer research program at the University of Tokyo is 6 weeks during which participants will have an opportunity to conduct research under the supervision of renowned faculty members and attend short courses on Japanese language and culture.

Internship Duration & Location
- The duration of the internship is 6 weeks from June 25 – August 5, 2025, at the University of Tokyo, Japan.
Eligiblity Criteria:
To participate in the UTRIP Summer Internship you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- UTRIP summer research program is open for all nationals
- Students currently pursuing an undergraduate degree program
- Have completed at least one year of the degree
- Pursuing degrees in the areas related to natural sciences
- Keen interest to pursue Masters & PhD
- Must be available for the entire 6 weeks program
- English Proficiency tests such as IELT or TOEFL
- No English Proficiency test requirements for applicants who are pursuing their degree from an English medium institute.
