A prestigious fellowship program hosted by the Forrest Research Foundation is inviting applications from outstanding early-career researchers from all around the world.
The objective of the fellowship program is to assist and attract early-career postdoctoral researchers to carry out intensive research at one of the participating Western Australian Universities. A total of 5 Western Australian Universities are participating in this fellowship program. The fellowship offers an exciting opportunity for Forrest Fellows to experience cutting-edge research in the institute’s state-of-the-art labs moreover fellows will also support the mission of the Forest Research foundation which is to provide mentorship, ambassadorial and leadership to forest scholars and Forest Research Foundation.
The foundation is accepting applications from both domestic and international researchers. The duration of the fellowship is up to 3 years. All the selected fellows will stay at the Forest Hall of the University of Western Australia campus located in Perth. The fellowship offers a wide range of benefits such as a competitive stipend, accommodation, relocation allowance, research support, and much more. Fellowship Coverage
The Forrest Research Foundation offers comprehensive financial support, the coverage includes:
- A competitive stipend
- An accommodation allowance of $25,116 per annum
- A research and travel allowance of $12,000
- A relocation allowance for international fellows to/from Australia

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are eligible for the fellowship:
- The foundation is accepting applications from all nationalities
- Applicants in the final year of PhD or no more than 2 years post PhD conferral.
- Applicants applying in 2025, with fellowship commencement in 2026, must have their PhD conferred on or after January 2025 or have completed their Phd requirement by December 31, 2025
- Committed to residing at Forest Hall for the duration of the fellowship
- Offered an employment contract at a Western Australian University
- Agree to report their progress to the Forest Research Foundation director each year
