The government of Punjab recently announced the scholarship through the official Punjab Educational Endowment Fund official portal. The scholarships are offered to both male and female nationals of Pakistan to pursue a fully funded PhD degree program at one of the top 50 ranked universities in the world. The scholarships are offered in a wide range of academic fields and majors covering Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences, Humanities, and art however 80% of scholarships are reserved for the science disciplines and the other 20% are reserved for the Social Sciences and Humanities.
The Chief Minister Merit Scholarship focuses on the talented students of Punjab however special quota is set for students from other provinces including AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, and Islamabad. To be eligible for the scholarship all interested applicants must have a secure Phd admission offer in one of the top 50 ranked Universities in the preferred subject area.
CMMS merit scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees, air travel allowance, health insurance, and boarding and lodging allowance. PEEF PHD Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship Covers:

Subject Wise Scholarship Awards
- 80% of awards are allocated to the science discipline students.

Eligibility Criteria
- Admission Offer: Secured confirmed admission letter from one of the top 50 ranked institutes in the world in the preferred subject area.
- Academic Requirement: Applicants have secured at least 60% marks throughout their academic career.
- Family Income: The monthly income of the family must not exceed Pkr 200,000
- Age: Must not be more than 30 years of age at the time of application
- Other Scholarships: Previously not received any foreign scholarship
- Acceptance: Selected applicants need to accept the scholarship in the year offered
- Nationality: The scholarships accept applicants from the nationals of Pakistan, preference is given to the students from Punjab however special quota is also set for students belonging to other regions of Pakistan.
Important: Faculty Permanent/Regular of public sector teaching and education institutions in Pakistan can not apply for the scholarship.
