MITACS Globalink Research Internship 2026 (GRI) in Canada

Want to access Canada’s dynamic research landscape through a fully funded internship program? Well, wait no more, as applications are open for the MITACS Globalink Research Internship 2026. A fully funded internship in Canada, offered by the MITACS, a Canadian Non-Profit Research Organization, is calling applications from highly motivated and talented students from MITACS partner countries to conduct intensive research in Canada. The internship is intended for the outstanding international students currently pursuing undergraduate or combined Undergraudate/master’s degree programs at one of the eligible MITACS partner institutions. Good news for the nationals of Pakistan, for the year 2026, MITACS has also included Pakistan in its program.

The duration of the internship program is 12 weeks, scheduled to take place from May to October. The interns will be working on the research projects hosted by the Canadian Academic Institution faculty members, the projects are available in a wide range of disciplines such as engineering, science, mathematics, mathematics to social sciences, and humanities. The internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on, valuable research experience in an international work environment under the supervision of renowned faculty members. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants meeting the following criteria are invited to submit their applications for the Global Mitacs Internship:

  • Applicants from eligible MITACS member countries can apply
  • Students must be at least 18 years old at the time of application
  • Applicants have completed at least 2 years of their undergraduate studies or are in the second year of their degree program
  • Students with 2-3 semesters remaining in their program as of Fall 2026
  • Applicants can apply for a minimum of 3 or a maximum of 10 projects
  • Have excellent English communication skills (French language is a plus)
  • Commit to full-time participation in the program
  • Previously did not participate in the Globalink internship

Eligible Countries

Applicants from the following countries are eligible to apply for the MITACS Globalink Research internship:

Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Jordan, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Mexico, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Each country consists of a list of eligible partner institutes; students pursuing their degree in the partner institutes are eligible to apply. Check MITACS Eligibility.
