MOGPA Visiting Fellowship 2026 in Paris, France (Fully Funded)

One of the most awaited visitng fellowships in France is back with its 9th edition call – You heard it right! Applications are now open for the MOGPA Visiting Fellowship for the session 2026. A prestigious fellowship program in Paris, France, funded by the Ministry of Europe & Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education & Research (MEST), delivered through Campus France, offers an incredible opportunity to International early-career researchers from all around the world to carry out a research project in the leading French research institutions.

The objective of the “Make our Planet Great Again” (MOGPA) visiting fellowship is to attract outstanding early-career researchers from outside France to conduct research in the areas related to Major climate and environmental issues and strengthen the scientific contributions by collaborating with renowned French institutions. The fellowship is inviting applications from International researchers holding a PhD degree for less than 5 years in relevant areas to conduct research in the five major areas related to climate and environment that we will discuss later in this post.

The duration of the visiting fellowship is 12 months, during which fellows will have an opportunity to work alongside renowned faculty members in an international research environment equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The fellowship offers generous support to the fellows, covers a monthly allowance, a time installation grant, and more. The application window for the fellowship is currently open. The last date for the submission of the application is December 12th, 2025. Make sure to submit your application within the due date – Incomplete and late submission of the application won’t be entertained.

Research Areas

The visitng fellowships are offered to early-career researchers to conduct research in one of the five major research areas:

  • Earth System Sciences
  • Energy Transition
  • Climate Change Science & Sustainability Science
  • Societal Challenges Related to Environmental Issues
  • Animal, Human, Environmental Health within the One Health Approach

Benefits 

The fellows are offered the following benefits for the duration of 12 months:

  • A monthly allowance of €2,500 to cover living expenses during your stay
  • €500 one-time installation grant
  • Comprehensive health coverage, repatriation assistance, and civil liability

Eligiblity Criteria

Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are invited to submit their applications for the MOPGA Visitng Fellowship programme:

  • The fellowship is open to all nationals (Except French Citizens)
  • Applicants holding a PhD degree for less than 5 years in the relevant areas
  • Applicants must have defended b/w December 2020 & December 2025
  • Foreign researchers must not have resided in France between September 12 and December 12, 2025

  • An updated Resume/CV with a list of publications (Max 4 Pages)
  • PhD degree certificate
  • CV of the scientific advisor at the host institute (Max 2 Pages)
  • LOS (Letter of Support) from Scientific Advisor
  • 3x letters of Recommendation
  • ID or Passport

Selection process:

The selection is done in two phases:

  • Phase 1: Scientific experts in the relevant fields will evaluate applications
  • Phase 2: The Scientific Committee will make the final decision on the selection
