To all the nationals of Pakistan, wishing to pursue their careers in Gaming and Animation, Today at Opportunities Radar, we are here with an exciting opportunity. The applications are open for the CEGA 2025 Cohort 1 Applications. For those who are not aware of CEGA, let us give you a brief intro. Centre of Excellence in Gaming & Animation (CEGA) initiative of the Government of Pakistan, funded through the Ignite National Technology fund under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) and executed by HUM Network, which aims to empower the young generation in gaming and animation, one of the most in-demand skills.

The CEGA is inviting applications from students, trainees, startup founders, educators, and researchers, regardless of any academic background or profession, to apply and have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in gaming and animation under the mentorship of renowned industry experts in the state-of-the-art facilities. The objecitve of the initiative is to develop a digital economy of Pakistan, by empowering young leaders and startups in the gaming and animation sectors through intensive training, incubation, and infrastructure support.

Under this initiative, CEGA will train more than 10,000+ students in gaming and animation and incubate 200+ startups in the span of 5 years. 1. Training:

Consists of an industry-aligned curriculum taught by the renowned industry experts, consisting of hands-on lab training, mentored by practitioners, in a flexible format.

Program Journey: 

The training journey consists of 8-12 weeks of intensive training that is structured as:

• Month 1: Building the core skills of participants
• Month 2: Working on the mini project
• Month 3: Advance training with the implementation of the project
• Month 4: Employment opportunities

Eligiblity Criteria

• Accepting applications from the nationals of Pakistan
• Applicants’ age must be 15 years plus at the time of application
• Able to attend the program in person at Lahore, Karachi centers, or online
• Calling applications from students, fresh graduates, and artists, regardless of any academic background
• No prior experience required
• Must be computer literate, know how to use your PC/Laptop

2. Incubation

Turn your ideas into real-time time scalable projects through the incubation program powered by LUMS, one of the prestigious institutions in Pakistan. The incubation offers elite mentorship from LUMS faculty and global experts; moreover over you will have an opportunity to pitch your ideas to VCs, publishers, and the CEGA investor summit.

The incubation journey consists of:

1. Application process

3. 1-5 months Mentorship
4. 6 months production Sprint
5. Investor readiness

Eligiblity Criteria:

• Calling application from early-stage animation & gaming startups
• The startups must have a valid founder with a valid CNIC
• The hybrid model is supported for incubation
• Clear pitch to your startup
• Startups consist of 1-10 persons with a relevant skill set
• Clear understanding of the industry

3. Co-working

The co-working consists of a top-notch workspace with state-of-the-art facilities. Participants will get free access to desks, power, and devices ready for production with fast interest. Access to meeting rooms and labs, the coworking space is exclusively built for gaming and animation teams
