The United Nations, through its official “UN Career” portal, has announced the “Intern-Public Information” Level-1 position in its Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) for the New York Office, and is seeking applications from highly motivated and talented students to apply and have an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the work of the United Nations. The minimum duration of the internship is 2 months, and the maximum is 6 months, during which the interns will gain hands-on experience while working on real-time projects under the supervision of an assigned staff member in SPCS.

The internship is inviting applications from students currenly pursuing Undergraduate or Master’s, PhD degree programs, or those who have recently graduated from the mentioned degree programs. No prior work experience is required to be eligible for the position; however, students’ study areas must be closely relevant to the position they are applying for. There is no application fee associated with the program. The application process is online via the official “careers.un” portal.

Eligiblity Criteria

  • The internship is calling for applications from all nationalities
  • International applicants must have appropriate work authorization to undertake an internship in the USA.
