For those who are not aware of this programme, let us give you a brief intro, it’s a 3 months, in-person, fellowship programme hosted by the GovAI, offers an exceptional opportunity to early career researchers and professionals from around the world to conduct independent cutting-edge research on a topic of their choice related to AI Governance under the mentorship of leading experts in their fields.

The objective of the fellowship programme is to equip early-career individuals and professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to accelerate their careers in AI governance and Policy. The GovAI fellowship is seeking applications from early-career individuals and experts from a broad set of professional backgrounds, with an established track record in relevant fields such as public policy, computer science, economics, cybersecurity, or related fields.

The duration of the fellowship programme is 3 months, taking place from June 8 to August 28, 2026, in London, UK. The fellowship does not require an application fee. Eligiblity Criteria

GovAi is seeking applications from individuals meeting the following criteria:

• No country restrictions, open for all nationals
• The fellowship is designed for early-career individuals and professionals new to AI Governance
• The fellowship is inviting applications from applicants belonging to a broad set of professional backgrounds, including those who have experience in academia, industry, government, or civil society
• There is no specific requirement for the role; however, preference is given to candidates with graduate study, relevant research experience in policy or related areas such as public policy, computer science, biosecurity, China studies, risk management, cyber security, etc

Coverage

• Fellows will recieve a total stipend of £12,000 to cover living expenses
• Round-trip airtravel support to/from London, UK
• Meals during the program
• A dedicated office space at the GovAI London Office
• Visa sponsorship for international participants
