FuSEP Summer Research Programme 2026 in China (Fully Funded)

To all aspiring students, do you want to have a transformative summer training experience at one of China’s leading research institutes this summer? Well, the FUSEP Summer Research Programme 2026 is something you shouldn’t miss. FUSEP, also known as the Future Scientist Exchange Programme, is a flagship initiative of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) that offers motivated students from around the world a chance to conduct cutting-edge research alongside USTC faculty in world-class laboratories. It’s a 6-week, short-term, intensive summer program scheduled to take place in Hefei, China, from June 22 to July 30, 2026.

The institute is inviting applications from students in STEM fields who are currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate and graduate degree programs at their home universities. This is your chance to gain hands-on research experience in state-of-the-art labs while immersing yourself in rich Chinese culture. Students with excellent academic records and a passion for research are highly encouraged to apply. No application fee is required.  Read more details below.

FuSEP Summer Research Coverage

Individuals meeting the following criteria are invitied to submit applications:

  • 100% tuition fees coverage
  • On-campus accommodation and meals for 6 weeks of stay
  • Registration fees
  • Air travel support to/from China
  • Comprehensive medical coverage

Eligiblity Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for summer research:

  • The FuSEP research program is open to all nationals
  • Students currently pursuing full-time bachelor’s and master’s degrees in relevant majors from recognized institutes
  • Bachelor’s students must have completed two academic years
  • Demonstrate excellent academic achievements
  • Profiency in the English Language
  • Demonstrate interest in research
  • Must show commitment to participate in programme dates
