Here is an exciting opportunity: the Ashinaga Foundation has announced a call for applications for its flagship “Ashinaga Internship Program 2026.” The program is inviting applications from talented students currently pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree programs or who have recently graduated from across the world. The internship offers an incredible opportunity to students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in a non-profit organization and build essential career skills along with international connections. Ashinaga Foundation is a renowned Japanese non-profit organization that provides financial support and emotional care to young people from across the world who have lost their parents or whose parents are disabled, preventing them from working sufficiently.
The foundation is offering multiple internship positions; students from all academic disciplines can apply. The internship offers flexible working arrangements; you can apply for the in-person position in Tokyo or the remote position. There are no country restrictions, students and graduates from across the world are invitied. Candidates living outside the Tokyo metropolitan area are encouraged to apply for the remote positions. Each year, the internship is offered in two cycles, Spring-Summer & Fall-Winter. Currently, the positions are open for the Spring session.
This is a paid internship program; interns will receive a daily stipend of 1,000 JPY/day for the duration of the program. The program duration is 10 weeks, with a possible extension to 18 weeks. Its an ideal opportunity for students to gain work experience in an multiculture work environment with teams from all across the globe. Eligiblity Criteria
To be eligible for the Ashinaga Spring/Summer 2026 Internship program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Ashinaga Internship is accepting applications from all nationals
- Students currenlty enrolled in the bachelor’s or master’s degree program or who have recently graduated from recognized institutions can apply
- Foreign students can apply for the remote positions
- Japan-based students can apply for the in-person or hybrid roles
- Must have excellent command in English language
- Knowledge of Japanese, French, or Portuguese would be an asset
- Applicants must commit to full-time participation during the program dates
- Demonstrate passion for youth empowerment and social impact
