A prestigious international summer program hosted by the Institute of Mathematics at the Academia Sinica invites applications from talented, outstanding students from across the world to experience cutting-edge research. It’s a short-term, 3-week immersive summer program hosted in Taipei, one of Taiwan’s most vibrant and dynamic capitals, from July 1 – July 21, 2026. The summer school is designed for students currently pursuing undergraduate, master’s, and PhD degree programs interested in Medical AI, data science, and interdisciplinary research in engineering, medicine, mathematics, and related fields. It’s a fully funded summer program, all the expenses related to the summer school are borne by the host institution, including airtravel coverage, accommodation, and a competitive stipend to cover living expenses.
The application process is entirely online. Students interested in the summer school need to submit their online application via the institute’s official portal. Students meeting the following criteria are invited to submit applications for the International Summer School 2026
- The summer school is open to all nationals.
- Taiwanese nationals are also eligible to apply.
- Students currently enrolled in the bachelor’s, master’s, master’s & PhD degree programmes in the fields related to Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine, and Basic Sciences.
- Students in the bachelor’s degree must be in the final year of the degree
- Demonstrate an excellent academic record
- Profiency in the English language
- Possess knowledge of Python and Matlab
