The United Nations Research Institute for Social Development, an autonomous agency within the UN that conducts research and policy analysis on social development issues, is pleased to announce a call for applications for the “UNRISD Monitoring and Evaluation Internship 2026.” They seek motivated and talented students from around the world. This is a full-time internship based in Geneva, Switzerland. The internship lasts 4-6 months, during which interns will work in the Communications and Outreach department and report directly to the Head of Communications and Outreach.
The UNRISD Internship is designed for students currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in social sciences, development studies, international relations, statistics, or related fields from recognized institutions. Students with interests in social development, sustainability, and equity are strongly encouraged to apply. UNRISD does not charge an application fee at any stage. Eligiblity Criteria
Applicants meeting the following criteria are invited to submit their applications:
- Calling applications from all nationals, students must be present in Geneva at the time of the internship
- Academic status: Students currently pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree programs or have graduated in the fields of social sciences, development studies, public policy, international relations, economics, statistics, data science, marketing and communications, or a related field.
- Undergrad students must be in the final year of their degree programme
- Interest: Demonstrate interest in sustainability, inclusion, and equity
- Knowledge of digital analytical tools such as (Google Analytics, Search Console, etc)
- Self-motivated and passionate to learn about policy-making

- Strong organizational skills can help manage multiple tasks
- A team player who can work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
- Excellent social media management skills
- Strong Research and analytical skills
- Excellent English communication skills
- Knowledge of any other offical UN language would be an Assett
Intern Role
- Collect and deliver data and reports on the results of UNRISD programmes
- Assist in improving the monitoring tools and databases
- Prepare the quarterly reporting
- Monitor the social media results
- Support social media performance using analytical and management tools
- Assist with other duties assigned by the Head of Communication and Outreach
