To all passionate climate activists, Bangkok is calling! You heard right—the applications for one of the most anticipated Global Summer School 2026 on Climate Change and Human Mobility are now open. A four-day selective research program hosted by the School of Public Policy at Chiang Mai University (CMU), in collaboration with partner institutions, invites applications from students, researchers, and early-career professionals worldwide who are interested in climate change and policy. The summer school is scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from May 4-8, 2026.
It’s a fully funded program, covering all expenses, including airfare, accommodation, and meals. The summer school focuses on “Change and Human Mobility,” where participants will explore how human mobility patterns are affected as climate change worsens, with issues like rising sea levels, floods, and droughts. Participants will benefit from advanced lectures by leading researchers, policy discussions on climate mobility, field visits, and development workshops.
This is a great opportunity for climate activists to take some time off from their work and attend a transformative four-day experience in Bangkok. No Application fee is required – Interested individuals should apply by March 31, 2026. Late applications will not be considered. - Academic Status: PhD students, Postdoctoral Researchers, Early-career faculty, and independent researchers are invited to apply
- Demonstrate research interest in Human mobility, climate change, and humanitarian studies
- Must commit to in-person participation in Bangkok during school dates
