iNNO SED Summer School 2026 in Göd, Hungary (Funded)

Hungary is calling! Applications are invited for the iNNO SED Summer School 2026. The Global Water Partnership Central & Eastern Europe, in collaboration with the iNNO SED project Coordinator at Budapest University of Technology and Economics and other project partners, is pleased to announce the application process for its flagship summer program. It invites applications from emerging scientists, young professionals, and talented students worldwide to deepen their knowledge in sediment transport, hydro-morphology, innovative sediment measurement, river flows, and sediment management approaches.

The 2026 summer school’s theme is “Innovating River Futures: From Sediment Science to Field Action.” The summer school runs for one week in Göd, Hungary, from June 28 to July 3, 2026. The application window is now open, and the deadline is April 1st, 2026. There is no application fee. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Summer School Objective

The objective of the summer school is to:

Enhance the knowledge of participants in measurement monitoring, sediment processes, and integrated assessment

  • Explore innovative tools and approaches for the river basin scale
  • Work on pressing the river challenges
  • Strengthen collaboration

Programme Coverage

The participants will recieve following support:

  • Recieve a travel subsidy of up to 250 EUR/person
  • Complete access to learning activities
  • Meals and accommodation during the summer programe
  • Exlusive field trips

Who can apply?

Applicants who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the SED Summer School:

  • The SED Summer School is open to all nationals
  • Students currently enrolled in the MSc or PhD degree programme in the fields of environmental sciences, water resource management, civil and environmental engineering, social sciences, policy, ecology, and related fields
  • Young professionals with up to five years of experience in water, river, climate resilience, or related areas are also invited to apply
  • Profiency in the English language
  • Commit to participation during the summer school dates

The selection criteria are based on:

  • Applicant’s motivation and interest in the river system
  • Your academic background is relevant to the summer school theme
  • Summer school benefits your career path and professional development

About Motivation Video

You need to submit a 1-2 minute short video on:

  • Who you are (country, name, organization)

  • How participating in the summer school will benefit your studies or career
