ASEFYLS Young Leaders Capacity Training 2026 | Funded to Norway

To all the young leaders out there, do you want to enhance your leadership skills through an immersive international training program? Then wait no more, as the Asia Europe Foundation has announced the application call for one of its anticipated “ASEFYLS Young Leaders Capacity Training 2026” under the theme of Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centered Future. The training program was recently announced on the ASF official portal on April 10, 2026, and invites applications from young leaders across Asia and Europe. The objective of the training program is to bring together young leaders from Asia and Europe for a transformative learning experience. The program is designed to develop your self-leadership, team leadership, and societal leadership to drive society forward through community engagement.

The training program is delivered in two phases: (1) Training Phase and (2) Action Phase. The training phase will be held virtually, where participants will explore the theme. In the action phase, participants will translate their theoretical learning into action by organizing events in their local communities. Do you know what the best part of this training program is? The top 40 participants will have the opportunity to attend the ‘Asia-Europe Youth Leadership Training’ scheduled at Arctic in Tromsø, Norway, from 23-29 August, 2026. The ASEFYLS 2026 capacity training is seeking applications from young leaders, students, and professionals from eligible Asian and European countries who play a leading role in student associations and youth organizations. Training Theme:

The ASEFYLS Capacity Training 2026 centers on the theme of Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centred Future, focused on equipping young leaders from across Asia and Euopre to use insights about the future through weak signals and take actions in the present. The theme emphasizes adaptability, collaboration, and thinking to shape sustainable societies.

Program Structure

The training program is held in two phases, which are:

Training Phase (9 June – 30 July 2026 | Online)

In the training phase, participants will explore the training theme through an expert-led session. In this phase, the trainees will learn about strategic foresight, systems thinking, and more while examining the impact of AI technologies

Action Phase (August – November 2026 | In Local Communities)

In the action phase, the participants will apply their theoretical knowledge from the training phase to real-world practice by organizing events in their local communities. This phase emphasizes applying the anticipatory leadership to create a meaningful impact in their communities

Based on participants’ engagement and commitment in the training phase, the 40 participants will have an opportunity to attend an Asia-Europe Youth Leadership Training: Anticipatory Leadership in the Arctic from 23 – 29 August 2026 in Tromsø, Norway

Eligiblity Criteria

The training program is inviting applications from applicants meeting the following criteria:

  • Citizens of eligible Asian and European countries are invited to apply
  • Students and young professionals playing a lead role in Youth Organization and Student association are invitied to apply
  • Applicants’ age must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of application
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Note: The program is seeking applications from the talented and motivated youth who wish to develop their professional and personal skills to  contribute to their communities
