British Council 90th Anniversary Fellowship 2027 in UK (Fully Funded)

One of the most anticipated fellowships, the British Council 90th Anniversary Fellowship, is now open for the 2027 session. The British Council has announced the call for applications for its flagship research fellowship program and is seeking applications from outstanding early-career researchers from ODA recipient countries. A prestigious, fully funded fellowship in the UK, organized by the British Council, in partnership with the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities at the University of Edinburgh, offers mid-career researchers from eligible countries a 10-month research stay at the institute.

The fellowship program was established to mark the British Council’s 90th anniversary and to promote research collaboration and knowledge exchange. The fellowship welcomes applications from researchers in the social sciences, arts, humanities, or related fields. Successful applicants will receive comprehensive support, including a stipend of £2,500 per month, travel support, dedicated office space, and access to the institute’s state-of-the-art facilities. Fellowship Duration & Structure

The fellowship spans 12 months and is delivered in the following structure

  1. 10 months of research stay at the University of Edinburgh
  2. The remaining 2 months in the home countries focus on collaboration and knowledge exchange
