The PPIA Junior Summer Institute 2027 is an ideal opportunity to spend your summer at leading participating institutes, including Harvard, Princeton, and the University of Michigan. It is a fully funded, six-week summer experience designed for college juniors interested in building skills in economics, international affairs, public policy, and public service. It offers students the opportunity to participate in graduate-level coursework and career coaching in public policy and service. The summer institute offers housing, funded coursework, books, and a summer stipend. No application fee is required. Applications for the PPIA summer program are open until November 6, 2026. About PPUA Junior Summer Institute

It’s a six-week, short-term, flagship graduate preparation program by the Public Policy & International Affairs Program (PPIA) designed for college juniors to spend their summers at one of three leading universities and develop academic and professional skills for future careers in public service. During the program, students will take graduate-level courses and study leadership, economics, statistics, and related fields.

2. Princeton University (School of Public & International Affairs)

  • Areas Include: International Economics, Foreign Policy, Diplomacy

3. University of Michigan (Ford School of Public Policy)

  • Areas Include: Public Policy, Economic Policy, Education Policy

Who can Apply?

Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are invited to submit the applications:

  • Be enrolled in the third or fourth year of a bachelor’s degree program
  • Students graduating in December 2027, or Between May and August 2028, can apply.
  • Students interested in public service, public policy, international affairs, government, economics, and related areas
  • Commit to full-time participation during the summer program dates
