Applications are invited for the Finnish Dinner Date 2027, an international experience organized by Visit Finland. The program is intended for single travelers to take a short-term immersive trip to Finland, explore its culture and food traditions, and take part in a special group dinner date with participants from different parts of the world.
It’s a 4-day program scheduled for February 9-19, 2027, in Helsinki or Tampere, Finland. Selected participants will receive full financial support, including airfare, accommodations, meals, and participation in hosted program activities. The program will bring 16 international participants from around the world for a unique experience in Finland.

About Finnish Dinner Date
It’s an initiative by Visit Finland. The program offers international participants from around the world the opportunity to explore Finnish food, culture, and local traditions.
During the 4-day program, participants will explore Finnish culture, enjoy food experiences, and meet local people. The main part of the program is a special group dinner where international participants will meet Finnish singles and enjoy Finnish tasting menus.
Two seperate dinner experiences will be organized under this programme:
- Tampere: participants will experience Finland’s Lakeland region food culture
- Helsinki: participants will experience Finland’s capital region food culture
16 participants will be divided into two groups, each with 8 international participants and 2 local participants. The exact destination of the program will be revealed to successful applicants after selection.
Who can Apply?
Visit Finland invites applications from applicants meeting the following requirements:
- Open to single individuals from all nationalities
- You must be at least 18 years old
- Finnish residents are not eligible to apply
- Applications are required to be submitted individually
- Interested in Finnish culture
- Must be available to travel to Finland during program dates
- Must complete the video challenge and online application

How to Apply for Finnish Dinner Date?
The application consists of three steps:
Step 1: Applicants must record a short video in English answering, “What would you serve on a dinner date, and why?”
Step 2: Upload your video to YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok using the hashtag #FinnishDinnerDate and tag Visit Finland (@ourfinland / @visitfinland.com / @VisitFinland).
Step 3: Complete the online application form and submit the link to your video.
Deadline: All applications must be submitted by November 10, 2026, at 11:59 AM Finnish time (EET, UTC+2).
Result Announcement: The result announcement will be made on December 1, 2026
