ASEF has recently announced the application call for the 15th edition of its flagship “ASEF Journalist Seminar,” taking place in Bangkok, Thailand’s most dynamic and vibrant city, from May 1st to 31st, 2026.
It’s a 3-day intensive program that brings together media representatives from across Asia and Europe to engage with the Asia Europe Meeting Process and ASEF’s activities. The seminar aims to promote a better understanding of Asia-Europe relations and to strengthen participants’ reporting and communication skills. The 15th edition focuses on the theme of journalistic resilience in a Volatile World, addressing the growing challenges journalists face in a complex media environment.
The program invites applications from citizens of 51 ASEM countries. No application fee is required; applications must be submitted online by May 31st, 2026. Read more details below

Who can Apply?
Individuals meeting the following criteria are invited to submit the applications:
- Accepting applications from nationals of 51 ASEM partner countries
- Journalists and media professionals with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Age requirement: must be under 35 years of age
- Fluency in the English Language
- Must be in good health to attend the seminar
- Commit to full-time in-person participation at Bagkoj during seminar dates
