The Asia Europe Foundation is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 2nd edition of its flagship “Asia Europe Training and Youth Summit 2026.” A fully funded international youth summit on Science & Technology Diplomacy, organized by the Asia Europe Foundation under the Asia-Europe & Technological Diplomacy Initiative for young professionals, aims to bring outstanding early-career professionals from eligible European and Asian countries working in the fields of science, technology, and innovation to participate and gain a deeper understanding of science and technology diplomacy and its importance in the context of Asia-Europe relations.
The summit offers an incredible opportunity for participants to deepen their expertise in science and technology, strengthen their intercultural skills, and expand their networks across Europe and Asia. The summit is structured in two formats: 1. Online: consists of hands-on learning experiences through intensive online workshops and live webinars led by experts in the relevant fields. 2. In-person: Successful applicants in the online training will have an opportunity to attend the Asia Europe Youth Summit, in person in Jakarta, Indonesia, taking place from October 19-25, 2026.
No application fee is required, and the application process is online. Interested young professionals must submit their applications by Sunday, June 21, 2026. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered. Learn more about the summit below.

Summit Format
The summit runs in two formats:
1. Online training | July 22- October 2026 | Seats: 120
This phase includes a six-week immersive online training for young professionals to gain hands-on learning experience through live webinars and hands-on interactive workshops designed to enhance their practical skills and foster cross-cultural connections
2. In-person participation in Jakarta, Indonesia | October 19-24, 2026 | Seats 40
Successful applicants in the online training will have an opportunity to participate in the Asia Europe Youth Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia, where they will present a declaration on youth perspectives on Asia Europe cooperation in science diplomacy to experts in the fields
Financial Support
It’s a fully funded youth summit and offers comprehensive support, which includes:
- Full participation fees
- Accommodation
- Meals
- Travel Subsidies for in-person participation
Who can Apply?
Candidates fulfilling the following criteria are invited to submit their applications:
- Citizens of eligible European and Asian countries can apply
- Age required: Up to 35 years old at the time of application
- Seeking applications from early-career professionals such as young diplomats, government officials, or research and science managers working in the areas of science, technology, and innovation-related matters
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Currently working in one of the eligible countries
- Students enrolled in a university-level degree are not eligible to apply

European Countries: Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, and the United Kingdom.
