A prestigious programme offered by ANSO in collaboration with renowned science and technology institutions in China, offers an opportunity to outstanding international students from all around the world to pursue their Master’s & PhD degrees in science, engineering, and technology-related fields at one of the partner institutes in China. CAS-ANSO scholarship, earlier known as “ANSO scholarship for young talent”, was initiated in 2019 to support young international students outside China to pursue their postgraduate degree program in China, particularly at University of Science & Technology China, University of Chinese Academy of Science, and other institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The objective of the ANSO scholarship programme is to promote academic excellence in science & technology and strengthen scientific capacity, especially in Belt & road developing countries. Each year, ANSO awards a total of 500 scholarships, 200 for master’s degrees and 300 for PhD degrees. The programme offers generous support, covers all the costs related to the programme, which includes a Tuition waiver, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and more. The application process is online via the official university portal – all interested applicants need to submit their application before January 31st, 2026.

Scholarship Coverage
CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) is the major sponsor of the scholarship and offers the following support:
- Full tuition Fee waiver
- Monthly stipend
- PhD Degree: 6000 – 7000 CNY/month
- Master’s Degree: 3,000 CNY/Month
- Comprehensive health coverage
- Application fee waiver
- Round-trip international air travel allowance
- Visa/residence permit allowance
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants meeting the following criteria are invited to submit their applications for the CAS-ANSO scholarship:
- Accepting applications from all nationals except Chinese citizens
- Applicants applying for a master’s degree must be born after January 1st, 1996
- Applicants applying for a PhD degree should be born after January 1st, 1991
- Proficiency in English or the Chinese language
- Individuals holding excellent academic records
- Meet the admission requirements of UCAS & USTC
- Have not secured any other scholarship
Ineligibility:
Students already pursuing postgraduate degree programs from China are not eligible
- Applicants holding a nationality of China
- Do not meet the institute’s admission criteria
- Note: Students cannot apply for the scholarship in both UCAS and USTC institutes simultaneously, else they will be disqualified

- Step 1: Choose from two participating institutes
- UCAS – University of Chinese Academy of Sciences
- USTC – University of Science & Technology of China
- Note: Don’t apply for both, select 1 institute
- Step 2: Choose a relevant degree program and make sure you meet the admission requirements
- Step 3: Prepare the required documents
