To young leaders and youth activists interested in democracy and human rights, we have brought you an exciting training course in Europe designed for you! Applications are invited for the 3rd edition of the Council of Europe Training Program 2026. Organized by the Council of Europe, the week-long training program focuses on Youth Advocacy for democracy and human rights. The program seeks applications from young activists and youth representatives in civil society interested in democracy, human rights, youth participation, and advocacy.

It’s an 8-day training course that will take place at the European Youth Center, Strasbourg, France, from 27 September to 4 October 2026. The program will bring together up to 30 young leaders. Candidates interested in the COE Youth Advocacy Training Course 2026 must submit applications before August 14th, 2026, Strasbourg time. Council of Europe Training Program Objective

It’s a week-long intensive training course, hosted by the Council of Europe Youth Department as part of the Youth Revitalising Democracy project. The program aims to equip the young generation of future leaders with advocacy skills so they can play an active role in democracy, youth participation, and human rights.

Who can Apply?

The training course is aimed at applicants meeting the following criteria:

  • Applicants aged between 18 and 30 years old at the time of application.
  • Represent youth organizations, councils, or any other civil society structures.
  • Hold a leadership position in the organization.
  • Demonstrate interest in Human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
  • Willing to participate in the full training program.
  • Profiency in the English language.
  • Are residents of a state party to the European Cultural Convention.

What Participants will Learn?

Participants will have an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the work of Council of Europe institutions and standards while developing valubale skills to implement advocacy startegies.

Participants will:

  • Learn how the Council Operates.
  • Develop human rights-based advocacy skills.
  • Exchange experience with young leaders.
  • Engage with experts and members of Parliament.

All applications must be submitted before August 14th, 2026 at 14:00 Strasbourg time.

The application process for the Council of Europe Training course is online via offical Council of Europe web portal; applicants must complete the online application form and submit a support letter from their sending organization.
