Programme Structure

The duration of the traineeship programme is 18 months, which is structured as:

  • First 6 months: Trainees will gain hand on experience through theoretical and practice-oriented seminars, workshops that focus on the topics of data journalism, social media, VR, Artificial Intelligence, etc
  • Next 9 Months: Trainees will be placed at various DW editorial offices, either in Berlin or Bonn
  • Last 1 month: An internship placement with the partner broadcaster

Who can Apply?

Language Requirements

  1. Native speakers of DW programme language (mentioned below) with proficiency in English (c1/c2) and knowledge of the German language (b1/b2)
