You heard it right: applications are invited for the EC Blue Book Traineeship program for the March 2027 intake. One of Europe’s most prestigious and competitive internship programs allows graduates to work directly with the European Commission and its agencies. It’s a 5-month paid traineeship that offers graduates an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in EU policymaking and administration. Interns will develop professional skills and gain insights into the operations of the European Commission. No application fee is required. About EC Blue Book Traineeship

It’s a flagship internship programme of the European Commission. Every year, around 1,000 trainees are selected in each session to work on real EU projects, policies, research, administration, communication, translation, environmental issues, digital policy, human resources, and many other fields.

Traineeships Types:

Administrative Traineeship (University Graduates)

  • The traineeship offers hands-on experience in managing office operations and performing various administrative tasks.

Administrative Traineeship (Vocational Education & Training Graduates)

  • The traineeship allows hands-on experience through practical learning, allowing trainees to apply vocational skills and knowledge in a professional environment

Translation Traineeship

  • The traineeship provides hands-on experience in translating documents in the trainee’s native language from at least two official EU languages

Who can Apply?

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have completed the required university degree or eligible vocational qualification before the application deadline
  • Meet the programme’s language requirements
  • Have no more than six weeks of previous work experience in an EU institution, body, or agency
  • EU citizens are eligible, while a limited number of places are available for eligible non-EU nationals in specific departments
