To all human rights defenders, do you want to have a transformative experience in Europe this summer through a fully funded fellowship program? Well, here is an exciting opportunity. Applications are open for the EU Sakharov Fellowship Programme 2026. A prestigious fellowship hosted and organized by the European Parliament is set to take place in Brussels, Belgium’s most dynamic and vibrant city, from June 7-20, 2026.

It’s a fully funded fellowship organized annually since 2016 that brings up to 14 Human rights leaders from non-EU countries to participate in a 2-week specialized training curriculum focused on EU policies, advocacy, and interaction with high-level stakeholders in Brussels. The fellowship aims to equip young leaders with tools and knowledge to develop their capacities to advocate and bring positive change to Human rights in their communities and beyond.

The fellowship is seeking applications from motivated and dynamic individuals with a proven track record campaigning for human rights in either an NGO or an organization. The EU Parliament offers generous support to the fellows, which includes Return airfare coverage, accommodation, and a daily allowance to cover the living expenses during your stay.
