FAO-Hungarian Government Scholarship 2026-27 ( Fully Funded)

One of the prestigious scholarships for international students funded by the Government of Hungary and managed through the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations offers an exceptional opportunity to individuals from developing countries to pursue a Master’s degree in life sciences and agricultural programs at leading higher education institutions of Hungary.

The scholarship programme is highly competitive students with excellent academic achievements are encouraged to apply. The Government of Hungary covers all costs related to the program, which includes full tuition fees, stationery allowance, accommodation, health insurance, and more. No application fee is required. The application window for the scholarship is currently open; interested students must submit their application by February 28th, 2026. The studies will commence in September 2026. Scholarship Coverage

The scholarship offered the following financial support:

Degree Programmes & Institute

The scholarships are available for the following English-taught MSc degree programmes:

  1. Msc in Plant Protection at the University of Debrecen
  2. MSc in Agricultural Biotechnology at the University of Agriculture and Life Sciences
  3. Master’s in Feed Safety Engineering and animal nutrition at the University of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Hungary

Residents of the following countries can apply for the program:

  • Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Republic of Cabo Verde, Serbia, Somalia, South Sudan, Angola, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Albania, Algeria, North Macedonia, Madagascar, Mali, Myanmar, Republic of Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Namibia, Nigeria, North Korea, Palestine, the Philippines, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo1, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon,  Sudan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Individuals from one of the eligible countries can apply
  • Must be under 30 years of age at the time of application
  • Completed a bachelor’s degree program in a relevant field
  • Possess an excellent academic record
  • Profiency in English
  • Demonstrate interest in the areas of food security and the agricultural fields
