Google through its official Google Careers portal has recently made the internship announcement for international students currently enrolled in full-time Master’s and PhD degree programs in the fields related to Computer Science, Statistics, Linguistics, Mathematics, and related fields with at least one year of experience in the relevant computer science fields.
The duration of the summer research scientist internship is 12 weeks which will begin in late November in Sydney NSW, Australia. During the internship, interns will have an opportunity to work closely with renowned research scientists and software engineers in areas related to artificial intelligence, data mining, machine learning, computer architecture, networking, operating systems, and other related areas.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply for the Google summer research internship:
- Academic Status: Students currently pursuing Master’s and PhD degree programs in the areas of computer science, applied mathematics, or related technical fields
- Experience: Have experience in Software Engineering Natural Language Understanding, Large Language Models, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, etc.).
- Programming language: Have expertise in C/C++, Python, or Java
Preference is given to:
- Students in full-time degree programs, return to degree programs after the completion of the internship
- Contributed to the research communities
- Have research experience including (Lab work, or internships)
- Experience in one of the programming languages:
- C/C++, Java, MATLAB, Go, Python, TF, PAX/JAX, etc.).
Intern Responsibilities
- Participate in research and provide solutions for problems
- Research, design, and develop software application
