Applications for one of the most awaited “Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship” for the academic session 2026-27 are now open. A prestigious scholarship program funded by the Government of Brunei through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam provides an incredible opportunity to the talented foreign students from the Commonwealth, OIC, and ASEAN member countries to pursue Diploma, Undergraduate, & Masters degree programs in one of the participating higher education institutes of Brunei Darussalam.
Currently, five leading Brunei institutes are participating in this scholarship program, covering a diverse range of study areas including Engineering, Arts and Social Sciences, Islamic Studies, and diploma programs in business, health sciences, and engineering. The objective of the Government of Brunei Darussalam scholarship is to promote academic excellence and foster academic collaboration between Brunei and participating countries. The Government of Brunei offers generous support to the scholars, covering all the costs related to the study program. The coverage includes full tuition fees exemption, round-trip airfare, a monthly stipend, accommodation, and more.
The academic year will commence from July/August 2026. No application fee is required for applying for the BDGS scholarship. Eligiblity Criteria
Individuals fulfilling the following criteria are invited to submit the applications:
- Calling applications from the citizens of the Commonwealth, OIC, and ASEAN member countries
- Citizens of Brunei Darussalam are not eligible to apply
- Foreign nationals already pursuing their degree in Brunei cannot apply
- For an undergraduate degree or diploma, individuals must have completed a secondary school or equivalent
- For Masters degree, individuals must have completed their bachelor’s degree program or equivalent
- Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic achievements
- Proficiency in English, Arabic, or Malay, depending on the program language of instruction
- Must be medically fit to attend the degree program at Brunei
- Applicants must not have secured any other funding
- Age Requirement:
- Bachelor’s & Diploma: Between 18-25 Years
- Master’s Degree: Upto 35 years
