Hansen Leadership Institute 2027 in United States (Fully Funded)

Applications are open for the Hansen Leadership Institute 2027, a fully funded immersive leadership program offered by the Hansen Leadership Institute with support from the Fred J. Hansen Foundation. The program brings together university students and recent graduates from the USA and around the world to the University of San Diego, California, from June 29 to July 20, 2026, for an immersive 3-week leadership experience. The program is designed for individuals interested in international cooperation, peacebuilding, mediation, conflict resolution, leadership, and related areas. The program covers all participant costs, including international airfare, accommodation, and program fees. No IELTS/TOEFL is required. The application window is currently open. About Hansen Leadership Institute

It’s a 3-week immersive residential experience at the University of San Diego that brings together future leaders from around the world to develop the skills and knowledge needed for peacebuilding, international cooperation, and ethical leadership. The leadership program focuses on public speaking, conflict resolution, communication, and peacebuilding, enabling participants to learn to communicate across political and cultural differences.

Who can Apply?

HLI is inviting applications from applicants meeting the following criteria:

  • Applications are accepted from both US and international applicants
  • Applicants must be 20 to 25 years old on July 1, 2027.
  • Have completed one year of a university or college degree
  • Students enrolled in graduate school are not eligible
  • Applicants who completed their university degree in 2025 or 2026 can apply
  • Interested in international relations, international economic development, diplomacy, or related fields
  • Must participate in the full program from June 29 – July 20, 2027

  • Program training and activities

Coverage does not include

  • Visa support for the international participants
  • Passport costs
  • Personal expenses
