It is to announce that only a few days are left to apply for the HEC Commonwealth Scholarship 2025! Higher Education Commission Pakistan, in collaboration with Commonwealth Scholarship, UK is accepting applications from the Pakistani/AJ&K under Commonwealth scholarship to pursue Masters & PhD degree programs in the participating institutes of the United Kingdom.
The scholarship aims to provide scholarships to deserving students who cannot afford education in the UK and provide them with skills, knowledge, and networks to tackle global development challenges. A total of 26 nominations are available for the Masters program and 30 nominations are available for the PhD degree program.
Commonwealth scholarship since its inception has granted 30,000 awards to individuals to study in the United Kindom. No application fee is required to apply for the Commonwealth Scholarship however applicants need to pay for the ETC-HAT test. All Male/Female applicants who are interested in the scholarship need to apply through the HEC Scholarship portal the last date for the submission of the application is October 15, 2024 at 4:00 Pm (Pakistan Standard Time).

Scholarship Coverage:
- A monthly stipend of £1,347/Month for Masters students
- A monthly stipend of £1,236/Month for PhD degree students

Eligiblity Criteria:
You must meet the following eligiblity criteria to apply for the Commonwealth scholarship:
- Applications are accepted by all nationals of Pakistan
- Pakistani nationals holding dual nationality are not eligible to apply
- For master’s scholarship, you must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- For PhD scholarship, you must hold Masters/MPhil/MS in relevant field
- Have not secured second or third division in the last degree
- Result awaiting applicants can apply
- Applicants need to take the HAT test and secure a minimum score of 60 out of 100.
- Applicants who have already taken the HAT test on or after October 16, 2022, can upload the test on the HEC portal
- Without HAT test applications will not be entertained
Commonwealth Scholarship Criteria:
- Applicants must be available by the start of UK academic year
- Unable to pursue education in the UK without funding
- Provide full details of all higher education qualifications including transcripts
- References from at least 2 individuals
For PhD Candidates
- Must not be enrolled in PhD or MPhil leading to PhD at any home or UK institute
- Provide a supporting statement from a proposed supervisor in the UK

Applicants who are interested in the HEC Commonwealth scholarship need to submit an online application on HEC online portal and CSC’s Online application portal.
