Applications are invitied for the Hong Kong University CDS Summer internship for the session 2026. A fully funded internship program for international students, organized by the Hong Kong University School of Computing and Data Science, offers outstanding students 7 weeks of research stay at the University of Hong Kong. The HKU CDS invites applications from students pursuing their undergraduate degrees in the fields of computer science, AI, data science, or related fields at a reputable institution in Mainland China or other overseas countries.
The program will accept 40 students from across the world to attend this research internship. The objective of the HKU CDS internship program is to provide students with real-world research experience while conducting research under the supervision of renowned HKU faculty and to have exposure to the institute’s postgraduate degree programs. The internship is scheduled to run from July 19 to August 31, 2026. The dates may be negotiated with the host supervisors. By the end of the internship, each intern will present their project outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria
You must meet the following criteria to apply for the HKU Summer internship:
- Accepting students from Mainland China and other overseas countries
- Academic status: enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of a bachelor’s degree program
- Academic fields: pursuing their degrees in computer science, AI, Data sciences, or related disciplines
- Demonstrate research interest
- Applicants with excellent academic records are encouraged to apply
- Commit to full-time participation during the internship dates
Internship Coverage
The selected intern will recieve a stipend of approx HK$19,601 to cover the expenses related to the program. The stipend helps in covering the following program costs:
