You heard it right! Applications are now open for the IAS International AIDS Conference 2026, scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s vibrant and dynamic city, from July 26 to 31, 2026. A prestigious conference, hosted by the International AIDS Society, is inviting applications from students, professionals, and volunteers aged 18 years old who work in the area of HIV.
The IAS is offering scholarships to support the applicants in participating in the program. The scholarship awards are available for both in-person and virtual participation in the program. Due to the high demand for scholarship applications, IAS cannot guarantee full scholarships to all the selected applicants. There are no country restrictions. To apply for the conference, applicants, Male/Female, from all around the world are invited to submit their applications. The IAS scholarship provides generous support to the scholarship recipients. The coverage includes: Access to all conference sessions, Travel support, Accommodation, and daily living allowance.
There is no application fee associated with the conference application; the application process is online. Financial Support
The IAS will offer scholarships for both in-person and virtual participation for AIDS 2026. The scholarship coverage includes:
In Person Support:
- Exclusive access to all conference sessions, including poster sessions, global village & pre sessions, satellite sessions
- Economy class round-trip air travel tickets to/from Brazil
- Accommodation during the conference dates
- Daily allowance to cover the living expenses during your stay in Brazil
- The scholarship recipients will also recieve IAS membership for 2 years
Virtual Support
- The virtual support includes online access to all the conference sessions, which will stream live on the official platform
Who can Apply?
Applicants meeting the following criteria are invited to submit their applications for the IAS AIDS 2026 conference:
- No country restrictions, Open for all nationals
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of application
- Calling applications from students, volunteers, or professionals working in the area of HIV.
- Have a good command of English, both verbal and spoken
- Demonstrate interest in the conference
- Willing to participate in-person or virtually during conference dates
Preference will be given to:
- Individuals from middle or low-income countries
- Individuals who are a part of the key population or living with HIV
- Young leaders aged below 35
- Have previously not received a scholarship from IAS
