Economists:

Interns, under the guidance of the IMF experts, will conduct economic research and further analyze the topics determined by the fund. The intern work will culminate in a research paper that will be published internally

Who can Apply?

Applicants meeting the following criteria can apply for the Economist position:

  • Students completing their PhD degree program within one or two years
  • Pursuing their degree programme in Macroecnomics or other related fields
  • Must be a student status for the duration of the internship
  • Age requirement: below 32 years of age at the commencement of the internship
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

IMF Internship – Legal Department

Applicants selected under this programme will be working on real-time projects in the IMF legal department under the supervision of a senior member of the department. The interns will be assigned to work on the projects that will be determined at a later time, closer to the start of the internship.

Previous interns have conducted research projects in a broad spectrum of legal issues, such as the impact of corruption on sovereign lending, international law issues related to the IMF, etc (you can check out the previous research projects on the official link)

Who can Apply?

  • Students within 1 or 2 years of completing their LLM, JD, or other equivalent degree related to law.
  • Must be in the student status, and return to their degree program after completion of the internship
  • Applicants’ age must not be more than 32 years.
  • Proficiency in the English language (Verbal and Written)
  • Possess excellent computer and quantitative skills

  • Applicants who are not residents of the United States need to get a G4 visa to attend the internship programme. IMF will assist selected applicants by providing the necessary paperwork to facilitate their G4 visa request.
