- This is a year-long community exchange program in which selected participants will spend 3 months in the United States of America.
Program Components
Three Months of Practice in the USA
- The host organization matches CEE fellows to civil society organizations where designated supervisors will support fellows for 3 months and provide them with hands-on experience.
Leadership and Engagement Academy
- Fellows will explore the program themes through interactive professional coaching, mentorship, training, and inclusion in a global network
Community Project
- Under the supervision of the US host and mentors you will work on the community engagement project that they will implement in their home countries when they depart from the USA
Community Project Exchange
- The host and CEE experts will travel to the fellow’s home country and work together to implement your project in their home countries
Program Coverage
- Support of J1-Visa
- Round Air Travel Tickets
- Monthly stipend to cover the expenses of housing, meals, etc in the USA
- Sickness & Accident benefits
Who can Apply?
- Young leaders aged 21-27 years are eligible to apply
- Applicants must be currently living and working in their home countries
- Flexibility is given to applicants living in other countries with Refuge status
- Having at least 2 years of experience working on civil society issues
- Must be available to travel to the USA in 2025
- Able to receive J-1 Visa
- Committed to returning to their home country after the completion of the program
- Language Requirement
- Semi-finalists have to take a Duliongo language test.

- Africa: Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Angola, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Botswana, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Senegal, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
- East Asia and the Pacific: Republic of the Marshall Islands, Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Papua-Brunei, Burma, Cambodia,  Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, and Vietnam
- Middle East and North Africa: Iraq, Israel, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia Jordan, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, and Palestinian Territories
- Europe and Eurasia:  Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Herzegovina, Albania, Estonia, Georgia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, North Macedonia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia- Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Türkiye, and Ukraine.

Who can not Apply?
- US Nationals are not eligible to apply
- Individuals who are in the USA for research work, education, or training cannot apply.
- Applicants who have previously participated in the program that is sponsored by the US Government
- Have applied for the US permanent residency
- Applicants working outside their home country unless holding a refugee status.
