The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) is offering a prestigious scholarship program for international as well as Italian citizens living abroad.
The objective of the Italian Government MAECI scholarship is to foster academic cooperation, promote Italian culture/language, and support the Italian economic system. The applications are invited from outstanding international students from eligible countries who wish to pursue full-time Study (Master’s, Ph.D), Research or training programmes at publicly recognized Italian institutes.
The degree programs are available in a wide range of academic fields and majors, and applicants from diverse academic backgrounds are invited to apply. The scholarship provides comprehensive support through various study grants. No Application fee will be charged to any candidate while applying for the scholarship. - Citizens of above mentioned countries are eligible to apply
- Applicants hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s degree for the respective degree programs
- Age requirement for Master’s: Max 28 or younger
- Age requirement for PhD: Max 30 or younger
- English language test (IELTS, TOEFL, etc)
- Have an excellent academic record
- Able to secure admission in one of the participating Italian institutes

Step 1: Register yourself on the Italian study portal
- Applicants need to create an official account on https://studyinitaly.esteri.it
Step 2: Start with your online Application
Once you are done with registration, start with your application, and provide:
- All personal details
- Valid Passport
- Chosen degree program
- Mention three preferred Italian institutes
Step 3: Submit your application
- All completed applications must be submitted by May 16th, 2025, at 2:00 PM
