The Italian Government MAECI Scholarships 2024-25 are available to pursue Masters & PhD degree programs at Public Italian Universities
The scholarship aims to foster international cooperation in the fields of Culture, Sciences, and technology to promote Italian culture and language. Italian Government is offering scholarships to applicants belonging to 139 countries the scholarships are specifically for those students who can not bear tuition costs or are not financially stable to complete their education.
The scholarship award includes Monthly Allowance, Health Insurance, Tuition Coverage, and other related costs the scholarship grants are awarded for the duration of 9 months. Grants & Duration
Masters Degree (Laurea Magistrale 2 ciclo)
The master’s degree grant under this scholarship is awarded for the duration of 9 months, Students who have completed their undergraduate degree program are eligible to apply.
Higher Education Arts, Music & Dance (AFAM)
The (AFAM) grants are offered for the duration of 9 months in the fields of Arts, Music & Dance.
PhD Program
The scholarship grant for the PhD degree program is also for the duration of 9 Months, an applicant must possess a master’s degree and meet the entry requirements set by the institute
Research Projects (Progetti in co-tutela)
The scholarships are awarded for research projects that are carried out by the Italian institutes, the scholarship grant is for the duration of 9 months.
Italian Language & Culture Courses
The scholarship grant for the Italian Language & Culture courses is offered for the duration of 3 months.
Scholarship Coverage
The MAECI scholarship provides the following coverage to the scholars:
- Health & Medical Insurance
- Full Tuition Fees
- University Enrollment Expense
- Students will be granted financial aid of 9000 Euros in 3 installments that will be paid accordingly.
- 1st Installment:4500 Euros
- 2nd Installment: 2500 Euros
- 3rd Installment: 2000 Euros
Eligiblity Criteria
- Academic Qualification: Applicants must hold the appropriate degree to enroll in the available degree programs.
- Age Requirement:
- Masters Degree: Should not exceed 28 Years
- PhD Degree: Should not exceed 30 Years
- Research Projects: Should not exceed 40 years
Language Proficiency
- Italian Courses: Italian language course certificate to show proficiency in Italian language
- English Courses: English language course certificate to show proficiency in English language (Minimum b2 Level)
Exemption
Applicants who have secured a degree from a taught institute may submit a certificate that states that their entire degree was taught in English Language.
There is no requirement for language proficiency for the PhD and Research programs.

The application process for MAECI is completely online, applicants need to follow the following steps to apply:
- Applicants can apply through the “Study in Italy” online portal
- You don’t need to be admitted to the institute to apply for a scholarship.
- The MAECI scholarship application is a separate
- Applicants can enroll in any participating Italian institute once they secure a scholarship
- Complete the application form and provide all the supporting documents.
