The John Innes Centre, through its official portal, has announced the application for its flagship “International Undergraduate Summer School,” which offers a unique opportunity for undergraudate students from around the world to spend 8 weeks at an internationally renowned research institution and carry out cutting-edge research under the mentorship of renowned researchers and experts.

The 2026 Undergraduate Summer School is scheduled to take place from June 29 to August 2026 at the John Innes Centre in Norwich, UK. The summer school is designed to provide students an opportunity to gain experience in plant and microbial science while interacting with the world’s leading scientists and gain valubale insight into the center’s research. Eligiblity Criteria

  • The summer school is inviting applications from all nationalities
  • Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
  • Students must be in the middle year of their degree programmes
  • Pursuing their degrees in the areas of Chemical, Mathematical, Bio-medical sciences, Physical, Earth, and environmental sciences from recognized institutes
  • Preference is given to applicants who plan to pursue a PhD in the future
  • Must commit to full 8 weeks of participation during the program dates
  • Holds excellent academic records

Coverage

The host organization offers generous support to the selected participants. The coverage includes:

  • A weekly stipend for the program duration to cover living expenses
  • Accommodation within walking distance of the research center
  • International students will recieve travel assistance of upto 50%
  • Allowance for research materials
