Applications are open for the JINR Start Winter Programme 2027, a fully funded international research opportunity in Russia offered by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR). The program is open to all nationalities. Students enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD programs with an academic background in science, engineering, or IT are invited to apply. The program offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical work experience in science, IT, and engineering.
The program runs for 6-8 weeks and will be held in Dubna, Russia. Selected students will work on real-world scientific or engineering projects under the guidance of JINR experts. Participants will receive generous support covering accommodation, a daily allowance, travel costs, visa expenses, and more. Applications are open until October 16th, 2026. No application fee or IELTS is required.

About JINR Start Programme
A fully funded international research opportunity organized by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) offers students the chance to engage in real scientific work at one of the world’s major international research centers. During the program, participants will conduct advanced research under the supervision of JINR experts. By the end of the program, participants will prepare a written report on their work.
Who can Apply?
JINR Start Programme is open to candidates meeting the following criteria:
- Open to students from around the world
- Students must be under 30 years of age at the time of application
- Be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program
- Be in the 4th year of undergraduate study or the 1st year of a PhD program
- Have an academic background in science, engineering, or IT.
- Have not previously participated in the JINR START
