Today, we are here with an exciting, fully funded visiting fellow program that you must consider. The University of Jyväskylä (JYU) is pleased to announce the call for applications for its flagship “JYU Visiting Fellow Programme 2027”. This prestigious fellows program, organized and funded by the JYU Institute, invites applications from outstanding researchers with a PhD degree from outside Finland for a 1-2-month research stay at the institute, starting in January 2026 and ending on December 31st, 2026. Those granted the fellowship must attend the program in 2027; the grant cannot be extended to the next year.
The objective of the JYU Fellows program is to support high-quality research and promote collaboration with international partners. The fellowship program is designed for researchers who have earned a PhD before the fellowship begins; selected fellows will be hosted by one or more faculties and departments at JYU. The program is highly competitive; candidates with outstanding achievements in scientific research are encouraged to apply. Beyond research, the fellows will also engage in educational activities at the institute. No application fee is required. Who can Apply?
To be eligible for the visiting fellows programme at the University of Jyväskylä (JYU) in Finland, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Open for all nationalities
- Researchers who have completed their PhD degree before the start of the visit
- Applicants’ current institutional affiliation must be outside Finland
- Demonstrate an excellent track record in conducting scientific research
- Excellent command of the English Language
- Must secure an invitation letter from the JYU host
- Commit to full-time in-person participation during programme dates
