KAIST Scholarship

The KAIST scholarship is offered to international students to pursue Master’s, Integrated MS-PHD, and PhD degree programs in the study areas offered by KAIST. The scholarship is highly competitive; students with excellent academic achievements will be awarded the scholarship. The scholarships offer a wide range of benefits. The coverage includes:

  • Full tuition fees coverage for the following duration:
    • Master’s Degree: 4 Semesters
    • Integrated MS-PHD: 10 Semesters
    • PhD Degree: 8 Semesters
  • A monthly stipend of approx KRW 350,000 & 400,000 (Varies by degree program)
  • Health insurance for the duration of the degree program

Note: There is no separate application required for the KAIST scholarship; you just need to select the KAIST scholarship in the Admission application to be considered for the scholarship.

KAIST Global Presidential Scholarship (KGPS)

The KAIST KGPS scholarship is exclusively designed for students who intend to pursue a Master’s or an Integrated MS-PHD Degree program from KAIST. The scholarship is awarded on a merit basis; international students with excellent academic performance will be considered for the KGPS scholarship. The scholarship offers comprehensive support, and the coverage includes:

  • A competitive monthly stipend of Approx KRW 1,000,000

Note: Students will be automatically considered for the scholarship if they apply for the KAIST scholarship.

KAIST Prestige Scholarship (KPS) 

The KAIST KPS is a prestigious scholarship program, offered to students who wish to pursue MS-PHD and Phd studies at KAIST. The KPS scholarship offers comprehensive support, such as:

  • Tuition Fees coverage up to 8 Semesters
  • A monthly stipend of Approx KRW 300,000

No separate application is required; applicants with outstanding academic records will be recommended by KAIST department heads and college deans.

KAIST College of Engineering PhD Fellowship

The KAIST (COE) is a prestigious fellowship program by KAIST, awarded to PhD or Integrated MS-PhD students within the department of the College of Engineering. The fellowship support includes.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants meeting the following criteria are invited to submit their applications for KAIST Admissions:

  • All foreign nationals except Korean Citizens are invited to submit applications
  • Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree for MS admissions
  • Applicants must hold a Master’s degree for a Ph.D. program
  • Students currently final year of the above degree program expected to graduate soon, can also apply

English Proficiency Waiver

Applicants from the following native English-speaking countries are exempted from the EPT: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the United States, and the United Kingdom and Ireland
