One of the most anticipated international exchange programs to the United States of America is finally open for applications. You heard it right! Applications for the Kennedy Lugar YES Exchange Program 2027 are now open. Supported by the US Department of State, this fully funded exchange program in the USA is designed for high school students from selected countries to study in the USA for the spring semester of 2027 and develop cross-cultural and leadership skills. It’s a 6-month exchange program running from January to June 2027 in the United States.
During the exchange, selected students will live with an American host family, attend school, meet with peers, participate in community activities, and experience American culture and daily life. Selected participants receive comprehensive support, including round-trip airfare, accommodations, health insurance, and more. No application fee is required. About YES Program 2027
It’s a fully funded international student exchange program funded by the U.S. Department of State. The program offers high school students from eligible countries the opportunity to study and experience life in the United States. The exchange program was established in 2002; since then, it has provided exchange opportunities to more than 15000 students.
Program Coverage:
Selected students will receive the following support:
- Round-trip airfare coverage
- Placement with a US host family
- US High school tuition fees
- Health and Accident insurance
- Participation in program activities

For the Spring Semester intake, applicants from the following countries are eligible to apply:
- Bangladesh
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Egypt
- India
- Indonesia
- Kosovo
- Malaysia
- North Macedonia
- Pakistan
Who can Apply?
Applicants meeting the required criteria are encouraged to apply:
- Be a national of an eligible country
- Be within the required age range set by your country
- Be enrolled in high/secondary school
- Have an academic score of at least 60%
- Have good English communication skills
- Meet the requirements for the US J1 exchange visitor visa
- Commit to full-time participation in a semester-long exchange program
- Students who have graduated from high school are not eligible
- Have not previously traveled to the USA
