LPI Internship 2025 Overview
The LPI also known as the Lunar & Planetary Institute offers internships to undergraduate students with at least 50 semester credit hours completed to perform research in the areas of the Lunar and Planetary sciences.
Candidates who are pursuing their degrees in the fields of natural sciences, computer science, engineering, or mathematics would be preferred however all eligible students will be considered for the internship.

Internship Duration & Location
- The duration of the internship is 10 weeks and will commence from June 2 – August 8, 2025, at NASA Johnson Space Center or Lunar & Planetary Institute both in Houston, Texas.
Eligiblity Criteria:
- You must meet the following criteria set by the Lunar & Planteray Institute to be eligible for the internship.
- Undergraduate students with at least 50 semester credit hours completed
- Preference is given to students with majors in Natural sciences, computer sciences, and mathematics.
- Must be available to attend the full-time internship
English Language Requirement
If you come from a country where English is not your main language you need to provide proof of English proficiency through the following methods:
- TOEFL Test
- IELTS Test
- Letter from your English department teacher confirming that you have good hold in spoken and written English language.

How to Apply for the 2025 LPI Summer Internship?
The application submission is online through the LPI Internship online application form, hard form of application will not be accepted.
Once you start with the application provide the answers to all the questions, once you are done and submit the application you will receive a confirmation email with an application number and link that shows the status of your recommendation letter.
Candidates need to provide a minimum of 2 recommendation letters and an official transcript to apply for the program. The electronic official degree transcript should be sent directly from the college to internprogram@lpi.usra.edu.
