New York Times Fellowship 2025 for Fresh Graduates (USA, UK)

To all the young journalists out there we have something big for you! Applications are invited to apply for the New York Times Fellowship 2025, The New York Times offers a year-long fellowship to early career journalists to provide superior training.  Previously it was known as the “newsroom internship”, but after 2019 it was replaced with the “Times Fellowship Program as they believed the fellowship provided better training and skill sets that would benefit the participants. The application window for the fellowship opens in the fall of every year, currently, the application window closes on Dec 2, 2024. New York Times since its inception has invested deeply in the talent to prepare the next generation of leaders in journalism. Each year 30 fellowships are awarded however the number is not fixed it may vary.

The fellows will work full-time in one of the designated newsrooms and will be paid for the duration of the program with other perks and benefits. check out more details regarding the program below.

To be considered for the fellowship you may fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • The fellowship is for early-career journalists and fresh graduates
  • Committed attending an onsite full-time fellowship in the assigned office
  • Experienced journalists with more than 5 years of experience cannot apply
  • Have authorization to work in the UK or USA
