A fully funded program hosted by the NUS Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, offers an exceptional opportunity to undergraduate students from across Asia to carry out intensive research in biomedical and biotechnological fields under the mentorship of renowned faculty members at the National University of Singapore.

The NUS scholars programme aims to empower the next generation of innovators by providing undergraduate students with cutting-edge summer research experience at renowned research institutions. The Amgen Scholars Program is exclusively designed for undergraduate students wishing to advance their academic career in biology or related sciences through graduate studies. The duration of the program is 8 weeks, which will take place from 1 June 2026 – 6 August 2026.

The program offers generous support throughout the program duration, the coverage includes Accommodation, Travel grant, stipend, visa application fees, and more. Coverage

The Amgen Scholars Program offers the following support:

  • Accommodation
  • Travel Allowance of up to SGD 1500 to cover airfare
  • A stipend of SGD6000 for the duration of the program
  • Visa Application fee

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Amgen Scholars Asia program, you must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Accepting applications from undergraduate students currenly pursuing their degrees at universities or colleges in Asia
  • Students must have completed at least one year of their degree program
  • Students must not graduate before or after the summer program
  • Applicants must resume their coursework in their home countries after completing the summer program
  • Must have excellent academic performance
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Demonstrate interest in pursuing a PhD degree program

Language Requirement

  • If you are not a native speaker or English is not your first language, you need to give proof of English proficiency through TOEFL | IELTS | Cambridge, or TOEIC

Or

  • If your current degree is taught in English, you just need to get an official letter from the institute stating that your degree teaching medium is completely in English
