RIH Summer Internship 2025 in Koyoto, Japan (Fully Funded)

Application call for the RIH Summer Internship 2025, the program organized by RIKEN Information R&D and Strategy headquarters, the Guardians Robot Project to provide an opportunity to students to gain hands-on practical experience in R&D in leading-edge robotics research. Students in an Undergraduate/Graduate degree program worldwide are invited to submit their applications. There is no Application Fee or IELTS requirement to be eligible for the internship. Internship Location

• The internship will be held at the Riken Guardian Robot Project (GRO), Kyoto, Japan

Internship Dates

• Long stay program: July 24(Thu)～Sep.19(Fri), 2025
• Short stay program: Aug.21(Thu)～Sep.19(Fri),2025

RIH Internship Coverage

• Air travel or bullet train ticket, depending on the distance
• Students will receive a stipend of JPY 393,900 for the program duration
• Accommodation and Transportation fees

RIH Summer Internship Research Areas

• The main research areas are Multidisciplinary, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Brain Science

Eligibility Criteria:

• The internship is accepting applications from students fulfilling the following requirements:
• The RIH internship is open for both Japanese and international students
• Students with an interest in Robotics and R&D
• Must show their availability during the program dates
• Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time university students

Ineligiblity 

• Students belonging to the institutes that have a collaborative research plan with GRP are ineligible to apply.

1. An updated CV in ＜RIKEN format＞
2. A motivation letter
3. Research Achievements

Important: Do specify research theme, Name of research team, and program type (A, B) on the top of the document.

Application Screening

Once the application deadline is over, the application documents screening will be carried out and the shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the interviews. The final result announcement will be made in April 2025.
